Finnish New Potato Festival!

This website was made out of love for Finnish cooking, especially for the love of the Finnish new potato. In our opinion the Finnish new potato has all the trademarks of a gourmet delicacy and thus deserves its very own festival, just as its more international relatives, e.g. asparagus.

This summer the Finnish Potato Festival is held at restaurant Le Marché, at The Hietalahti Market Hall, Helsinki from Tuesday, July 28th.

During the Festival the potato itself is in the spotlight it deserves. And here we are not talking about your average intensively-farmed potato, but about a true, precious new potato harvested from the fields of Finland.

The season’s first new potatoes do not, in our opinion need to be accompanied by more than some good butter, good salt and a garnish of dill.
